The cleaning frequency depends on the concentration of suspended solids and is made manually by disassembling the filter.

In the case of disc filters, dirty water is pumped into the filter and water pressure helps to keep the disks compressed each other, thus increasing filtering efficiency. Grooves on the disks surface cross paths, forming a network that traps impurities; filtering occurs both on the outer surface of the cartridge and through the entire depth of the disk grooves and clean water exits from the inside of the cartridge.

Filters can easily be cleaned manually by removing the element and spraying the disks with water.

The main application is in installations of public irrigation, garden and agricolture, as well as in fertirigation.
